For some of us this was the first escape following Covid lockdown and the SMC's first kayak meet, based at the Sands Campsite by Gairloch. Despite varying degrees of wind two excellent days of paddling were had. Taking advantage of the wind on the Saturday we did a circuit of Loch Gairloch, going with the wind to Badachro in the morning and managing to largely avoid it on return half, hugging the coast and passing Charleston and Gairloch on the way back. On Sunday the weather was better but not good enough for our planned route, so the team headed north from Aultbea on Loch Ewe, which provided a superb paddle.
