This is a trad climbing week hosted by the Wetlzer section of the DAV.
The Pfalz is located near the French border in southwestGermany (not far from Strasbourg). It is a hilly forested area, dotted with picturesque villages, and on first arrival it seems an unlikely climbing venue. However, the hills are topped by vertical towers of hard sandstone up to 50m high. The rock has the texture of Reiff with the exposure of the Old Man of Stoer, according to Simon Richardson!
